For Businesses

Communicating clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues is essential for a business or organization to demonstrate professionalism. Most companies strive to get their message across concisely and to present their brand in the best light. Work documents with errors and inconsistencies can undermine your company’s credibility. I will work to ensure your final business documents are clean and concise, and that they convey your company’s message in a clear way.

Whether you are a small business, non-profit organization, or advertising agency, my goal is to provide you with business materials that are both polished and professional. I can assist with a variety of documents, including reports, websites, marketing materials, brochures, newsletters, blogs, proposals, manuals, and articles.

Your final edited documents will be clear, consistent, and correctly formatted. Headings, figures, and tables will be properly labelled, and citations and references will align with the style guide of your choice. Your deadlines will be respected and met.

I offer the following services to businesses:

Stylistic Editing and Copy Editing

I combine stylistic editing and copy editing into a single form of editing, as there is often overlap between the two types. However, if you prefer one type of editing in particular I can quote on the services separately. After I complete the level of editing that you've selected, your company has a chance to review the edits and suggestions I’ve made and make decisions on them. If requested, you can send the document back to me so I can present your company with a clean and final version.

Proofreading

My proofreading services involve a final read-through of your work to address any residual errors or issues in layout or design. This step should ideally be done by someone who has not edited the work previously.

Pricing

Rates are determined on a project by project basis. Many factors influence the rates of my editing services, including the length of the document, how soon you need it back, and what level of editing service you require.

I ask for a brief description of the writing and I will talk to you about what your goals are, who your audience is, and what your timeline for completion looks like. For longer documents, I may ask to see a small portion of the work to help me identify the unique needs of the project and to prepare an accurate quote and timeframe for the project. I can also offer several options to accommodate for varying budget levels.
